The twelve traditions

Each tradition gets the same treatment: a plain summary of its "how to live together" core, its own formulation of the Golden Rule where it has one, and its passages across the eight practices. No tradition is ranked, and none is presented in another's words. To search all of it at once, use the guide home search.

Where they differ

These traditions disagree about God, worship, and the afterlife, and this guide does not hide that. Its claim is only Alan Davis's claim: on how to treat each other and live in society, they converge. Judge the evidence on this page and on the practices page for yourself.
